Overview

The event is a political and business encounter meant to stimulate the communication within the business communities and to facilitate the dialogue with important policy makers, in view of developing a coherent political and economic strategy mutually beneficial for the region.

In this respect, the conference will gather, besides members of the Romanian government, important personalities and representatives of the business community from Greece, Romania and other Southeast European countries, together with representatives of international organizations, economic analysts and Romanian, Greek and the international mass media.

Romania is, after Poland, the second largest consumer market in Central and Eastern Europe, a NATO and EU member. The growing interest of foreign investors for the Romanian market has been the result of successful efforts by local administrations to improve the business environment and keep market reforms on track.

According to the Ernst & Young Study on the Investment – Related Potential of 2007 Southeastern Europe, Romania is being considered the most attractive destination for foreign investments in Central and Eastern Europe, overtaking Poland and the Czech Republic. Romania was considered to be the first choice destination for investments due to the low tax rates, to the cheap labour force, to the flexibility of labour law, to the potential for productivity growth and to the availability of investment locations.

Given this economic and political context, Forum Invest looks upon this event as one of the most important business communication platforms in Southeastern Europe in 2007.
